I spend my spare time blogging, surfing, reading the Mac News, listening to various tech podcasts, and thats just my spare time.

Gear
My main machine (and only really) is a Macbook Pro C2D 2.2Ghz, 2Gb Ram, 120GB HDD. I connect to the internet via a Netgear DG834G
Before that I ran a 1.5GHz Powerbook G4, 15″ with 1Gb RAM and a 80GB drive, until the fateful hard drive crash of 2007.
I own a 3G 20GB iPod, and a 5G 80GB iPod with Video, and recently picked up an 8GB iPhone.
I shoot pictures with a Canon Exilim EX-Z40.

Band – Douglas Furs
I’ve been in the Douglas Furs since September 2006 after being asked via a drunken SMS. I went along for a first practice and it escalated from there.  We played our first gig at the Bear Tavern in Bearwood at the Alternation night, and followed up with a second performance at another pub down the road. 
We usually practice weekly at Rich Bitch in Selly Oak, but have been known to frequent Robannas and Madhouse in Birmingham. We’ve recorded 5 sessions so far (some of which are available on MySpace and Virb). We’ve also played two gigs at the Spotted Dog in Digbeth, to a few welcome crowds. At our first gig there, we gave out our first CD sampler (put together by the lovely katiefantastico). These were a limited supply of about 24 copies, individually numbered. And don’t claim you have 1-4 as these belong to the band! The rest will remain collecters items for years to come.

I originally played on a Westfield 4-string bass, nothing special, and practiced with a Trace Elliot Boxer 30 practice amp. I later bought a Fender Jazz Deluxe bass which I love to pieces. I have since sold the Boxer 30, and am waiting to get a new gigging amp. In the meantime I’m borrowing a Laney R4. I play with Jim Dunlop 1mm black picks, and aren’t bothered about cables! 

Music:
I have a varied music taste. I like Barenaked Ladies, Dashboard Confessional, Guster, Taking Back Sunday, The Pixies, The Long Winters, +44, and many more.

TV:
I enjoy watching Heroes, Lost, Smallville, Numb3rs, Scrubs, Futurama, Gilmore Girls (now finished), The OC (also finished). I also enjoy Mythbusters, Friends, The Class, The Big Bang Theory, and loads of other America sitcom stuff.
